Silafae has become the main scientific meeting of the Latin American high energy physics community. There was a special session held on November 1-2 dedicated to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the neutrino. Leon M. Lederman, James W. Cronin, both of whom are Nobel Prize winners, and Pier Oddone where amongst the participants. There were 22 talks presented on the recent advances of neutrino physics, including experimental and phenomenological results. Subjects covered in the VI-Silafae sessions where neutrino physics, high energy physics experiments, astrophysics and cosmology, standard model and beyond, top quark physics, strings, and field theory.
