About the author (1998)

Thomas W. McKnight is a human relations expert. His columns have appeared in leading US singles newspapers and magazines over the past fifteen years. He's conducted relationship workshops throughout the country, and has appeared on numerous radio and television shows, including Oprah.

Robert G. Lahita, M.D., Ph.D., is the chief of rheumatology at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City. He is a former chairman of the Lupus Foundation of America.
Robert H. Phillips, Ph.D., is a practicing psychologist and the founder and director of the Center for Coping.
