A wonderful book. Ms. Luke's book was my first biography of Elizabeth I and I'm glad it was. It vividly brought to life the Elizabethan Age in Technicolor - highly recommend it.

this is a wonderful, readable Who's Who of the Court of Elizabeth I. Mary Luke somehow manages to make this serious history read almost like a novel. I'm going to read the first two books of the trilogy after this. But then, I'm someone of a Tudor nut. Read full review
