Review: The Essential James Joyce

User Review  - Monkeyinacoma - Goodreads

The stream of consciousness stuff is really hard to read and I didn't enjoy it at all but some of the other bits are good, I particularly liked the dubliners and some of the poetry (although you do have to read it in an Irish accent otherwise it doesn't rhyme). Read full review

This is a bad place to start James Joyce. It cuts up the novel "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man." The book itself though was a gift and while driving across South Africa we read excerpts of Dubliners to each other. A special book. Read full review
