Even in the 21st century one can look upon the history of men and see the same trends and examples of humanity's attempt to merge differing races into the same area of living space with results that hurt each party, even if they didn't mean to.
This is exciting reading, as it explores the truth of eyewitness accounts of the Indian Wars, allowing for the time period that the wars took place ( ie lack of meaningful communication, and the pride of the human spirit on both sides).
It is well worth reading and since there are large holes in our "history" classes and we learn phrases and time periods and not the people who lived in those periods, our understanding and knowledge can b greatly increased and filled out with the reading.
Enjoyed and enjoyable.
