About the author (2009)

Jonathan Herring is a lecturer in law at Oxford University. He has lectured there on family law for the past eight years. He has an international reputation as an academic in family law and recently served as the George P. Smith II Distinguished Visiting Professor-Chairat the University of Indiana, USA. Jonathan has written a best-selling textbook on family law, now in its third edition (Family Law) and a popular revision guide (Law Express: Family Law). He has also written four other books on medical and criminal law (including Criminal Law (Oxford University Press); Medical Law and Ethics (Oxford University Press). He is editor for the Child and Family Law Quarterly and the International Journal of Law Policy and the family.
