SUGAR BUSTERS! tells you how & why a low sugar diet is good for weight control & general health. Per government statistics, Americans consume over 149 pounds per person per year of refined sugar! Only 1,300 years ago the world average was zero. In just the last thirty years the incidence of obesity in U.S. children has doubled (same pattern for adults). The incidence of diabetes has tripled since the 50s, doubling in the last 10 years! Sugar consumption is up 20% since 1980. Sugar is the prime culprit. Our bodies did not evolve to handle huge quantities of sugar. SUGAR BUSTERS! recommended eating has been particularly effective with diabetics who consume far more sugar than they realize. One insulin dependent diabetic recently said: "After 2 months on SUGAR BUSTERS! diet, I am OFF insulin injections!" The key to weight loss & cholesterol control is insulin. Continued high levels of insulin are "toxic" to your body & ingested sugars create requirements for insulin secretion, etc. SUGAR BUSTERS! is medical & physiological fact written in common language. Available in bookstores through Ingram Book Co. or by calling or faxing Sugar Busters at 504-897- 6770.

Review: Sugar Busters! Cut Sugar to Trim Fat

User Review  - Mark - Goodreads

Celebrated finishing this book today by a serving of French toast with genuine maple syrup. But I do plan to (and already do) use it's better ideas. I suspect the authors are still too anti-fat in diet, but they make strides. Read full review
