Mario Landrián Oriol nació en 1921 en Los Palos, Nueva Paz, La Habana, Cuba. Descendiente de mambises pero con escasos recursos hizo con mucho esfuerzo sus estudios hasta graduarse de médico en la Universidad de La Habana. Establece su pronta exitosa consulta en Surgidoro de Batabanó, al sur de La Habana. Las imposiciones de la revolución de Castro lo obligan a exiliarse en 1961, teniendo de nuevo que estudiar y rivalidar su título de medicina. Trabajó como psiquiatra en hospitales de Georgia y la Florida hasta su retiro. Mario Landrian Oriol was born in Havana, Cuba in 1921. Having little monetary means, it took much effort and dedication to complete his studies and graduate as a doctor of medicine from the University of Havana. He establishes a successful practice when, in 1961, Castro's revolution forces him to leave the Island. Once again he enrolls at the university and passes the state medical boards to work in Georgia and Florida hospitals until his retirement.
