Orchids of Sumatra
This book recognizes 139 genera and 1118 species of orchids occurring in Sumatra and its surrounding islands. Each species is completely described, with technical terms avoided as much as possible. The comprehensive account includes 664 colour photographs, mostly taken of plants growing in the wild. They have been placed close to the descriptions, to facilitate identification. Details of the ecology and altitudinal ranges are provided.
