About the author (1973)

Author Archie P. McDonald is a professor of history and a community liaison officer in Nacogdoches, and Hardy Meredith is the photographer for Stephen F. Austin State University and formerly for the Daily Sentinel. The rare photographs in this book come primarily from the East Texas Research Center, the university archives, and Meredithas professional collection.
