About the author (1974)

Frazier was Professor and Chairman of the Department of Sociology at Howard University. He was also President of the American Sociological Association and of the International Society for the Scientific Study of Race Relations.

Lincoln is presently Chairman of the Department of Religious and Philosophical Studies at Fisk University and is the founding President of the Black Academy of Arts and Letters.
