About the author (2011)

G.W. Childs IV began his music career playing in a small band while in the Army and went on to a prestigious career in the gaming industry, working on award-winning titles such as Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords. In addition to game effects processing and sound design, G.W. was also a sound designer on the highly acclaimed and popular Reason 3 and recently Reason 4 from Propellerhead, as well as Cakewalkas Rapture. In the fall of 2006, G.W. released his first book, Creating Music and Sound for Games, published by Thomson Course Technology PTR. G.W. also began working with Obedia, a DAW training and support company. He has recently taken a teaching position at Globe Recording, where he teaches synthesis, MIDI production, and, of course, ReWire. G.W.as longtime band, known as Soil & Eclipse, along with Cop International Records, will release their fifth album, titled The Mirror, in early 2008.
