About the author (1999)

Neil Philip has edited more than a dozen anthologies and books for children, including The Penguin Book of English Folktales, A New Treasury of Poetry, The Adventures of Odysseus, The Illustrated Book of Myths, and Christmas Fairy Tales.

Isabelle Brent has illustrated many books for children, including editions of Hans Christian Andersen, the Brothers Grimm, and Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories. She lives in Dorset, England, with her husband.
