In this fifth volume of Kluback's Paul Valery studies, thought takes on a new dimension: the realm of the Analecta. This is the realm of the imagination, of the image and metaphor. Readers are presented with epigrams that confuse and challenge their thinking.

About the author (1998)

William Kluback was Professor of Philosophy specializing in Hermann Cohen and neo-Kantians. In his passionate quest for a «dwelling for the spiritual,» he abandoned the philosophers, and toward the end of his life, turned to poets or poet-philosophers such as Paul Valery and Benjamin Fondane.
