RecyclingOne of the most important educational focuses for the next decade will be the cleaning up and saving of our planet from unthinking destruction by its inhabitants -- not through nuclear war but through the thoughtless erosion of the environment by our own actions. Up to this time, most people have regarded the problem as something that someone else would fix, but the next generation must learn that the problem is the province of each and every one of us to resolve, by our attitudes, our caring, our knowledge. In order for our planet to return to being safe, productive, and beautiful for us all, we must all begin doing what we can to help rescue it. The time is past when we can say, "Well, someday someone will figure out what to do about the environmental problems". Whatever age you are, you can start taking action now to help the earth. |
