This book was written by a self-educated (YES, he DROPPED out of Harvard before he even began! He was not that educated as the other reviewer thinks, look it up in a biography) elitist who doesn't understand real history or the concept of academic citations much less a bibliography. Putting this out in public view is either
A) A huge blunder for a secret society
B) A huge distraction to make people THINK that these people have secrets and such to make them look foolish when it turns out that these people are just better organized than you are and otherwise, completely normal human beings. In other words, "Lets put crap out there saying we worship Lucifer so people will be too freaked out to join so only our friends and family will get in,"
This really is a manifesto of sorts with a mix of logical arguments and fairy tale non-sense that has poisoned the pool of knowledge in the masses with this tripe quoted text since its inception. "The people are a force to be managed" etc... Good grief! Its like something Karl Marx would say.
It should come with a big note: READ IN THE LIGHT THAT THIS PERSON IS OUT TO PHYSCOLOGICALLY WARP YOUR MIND. Because either way this is true. Its only value is historical in my opinion. One day people will read this and say, "Wow, civilization was really gullible back then, eh?"
Once again, I'm not a member of the Masonic order, so how better to find out what Freemasonry is about than to read THEIR books? If you TRULY want to become a TRUE Freemanson - above and beyond all else - then, according to what I've found out concerning this subject, you WILL go far beyond the teachings in most lodges in America. Read page 321 and decide for yourself, and please read the other reviews. I purchased several "Morals And Dogma" books to give away and to keep one as a reference. To me it was a hard read, but I learned that Albert Pike was an extremely educated man. I didn't know his reason(s) for sharing some of the "secrets" that he did. But then, he was writing to the Masons, I believe. I can never be a Freemason, but I do have friends and family who are Masons whom I get along with (Yes, I get along with them by keeping this knowledge to myself - I found that out the hard way. I realized that this information is available to anyone, so if you want it then, get it).
