About the author (1965)

HARRY WILLETTS has translated numerous books from the Russian, including Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's The Gulag Archipelago (with Thomas P. Whitney), The Oak and the Calf, August 1914, and One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, the authorised English translation, approved by the author himself.
