About the author (2001)

Zaihong Shen is a feng shui practitioner, architect, cultural anthropologist, and classical Chinese painter. She has been featured on television, radio, and in newspapers for her extensive knowledge of feng shui and Chinese culture. At the age of 18, she began a series of expeditions to significant cultural sites in remote areas of China, where she focused on regional architecture. Following these expeditions, Ms. Shen delved into ancient Chinese literature, studying classic texts such as the I Ching, from which the principles and calculations of feng shui are primarily derived. Ms. Shen received graduate degrees in architecture in China, as well as Masters degrees in international business and hotel and restaurant management from several American universities. Ms. Shen has been practicing feng shui for over 12 years. She now lives in Chinatown, New York City, where she heads the Feng Shui Gallery, which is dedicated to the preservation of Asian fine arts and culture.
