I didn't read the book, I watched the DVD. It's a true presentation of where we are in our world...it's a sad view of the soldiers life, from war to home life. UGH! Read full review

About the author (2009)

Mark Boal is a journalist, screenwriter, and producer. He has written for Rolling Stone, Village Voice, and Playboy, and his piece "Death and Dishonor," became the basis for the film In the Valley of Elah, for which he shared a screen story credit with Paul Haggis.

Kathryn Bigelow is the acclaimed director of K-19: The Widowmaker, Near Dark, Strange Days, and Point Break.
