I read this book for a college writing class. I was immediately blown away by Red's storytelling. I was never a fan of sport subjects - until this book. Wonderful then and gets better every time I read it again. Read full review

Review: To Absent Friends

User Review  - David - Goodreads

A collection of Red Smith columns in which he remembers recently deceased friends from the world of sports. Not so much obituaries as anecdotes and and time capsules of a lost era of sports. One of my favorite books ever. Read full review
