Patrick Dickey immigrated to South Carolina in 1767 and settled first on land on Cloud Creek in present-day Edgefield County. By 1774 he was living in St. Georges Parish, Georgia. He and his wife, Sarah, had at least eight children, all born in Georgia. The family was living in Screven County, Georgia, in 1801, and moved to Putnam County, ca. 1811, where he died in 1825. Descendants lived in Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and elsewhere.
