Edmund Burke, III is Professor of History at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is the editor of "Rethinking World History: Essays on Europe, Islam and World History" by Marshall G.S. Hodgson (1993) and co-editor (with Ira Lapidus) of "Islam, Politics, and Social Movements" (California, 1988).
Isaac Kramnick is Richard J. Schwartz Professor of Government at Cornell University. He is the author of "The Godless Constitution." Theodore J. Lowi has been John L. Senior Professor of American Institutions at Cornell University since 1972. Among his numerous books are "The End of Liberalism" and "The Pursuit of Justice", on which he collaborated with Robert F. Kennedy.
