Boosting Businesses: Advisory Services

Front Cover
Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, 1995 - Business & Economics - 191 pages
In response to concerns with declining competitiveness and slow development of IT industries, Sweden introduced first the National Microelectronics Programme (NMP) to improve microelectronics capabilities, and subsequently the more industrially-oriented National Information Technology Programme (NIT). They were followed in 1992/93 by the IT2000, an investigation with the task to suggest new priorities after the end of the NMP and NIT programmes. Government-subsidised development projects and supply of services are usually planned and organised in collaboration with industry associations and participant firms, adding an element of market understanding to programmes.
