This complete edition of Flannery O'Connor works includes: The Wise BloodThe Violent Bear it AwayA Good man is hard to find andother short stories. O'Connor observes all that happens in the novel's timeline with an astonishing combination of irony and compassion, humor and pathos. The result is a novel whose range and depth reveal a brilliant and innovative writer acutely alert to where the sacred lives and to where it does not.Flannery O'Conner was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1925. When she died at the age of thirty-nine, America lost one of its most gifted writers at the height of her power.

Zero stars. This edition is an abominaton and an insult to O'Connor and her readers. The lack of a table of contents actually makes sense, since there AREN'T PAGE NUMBERS ANYWAY. Good grief. A big, floppy, numberless book that looks like it was printed in someone's basement. Somehow, someway, I got this edition instead of the FSG Complete Short Stories I wanted for my students. Shame on you, unnamed publisher (lifeebooks?), and shame on you Amazon.
