About the author (1993)

John Peel was born in Nottingham, England, in 1954. Peel had anemia when he very young, which meant he would get tired very quickly. As a result he wasn't allowed to play sports and had to stay in class and read instead. He attended Carlton le Willows Grammar School, in Gedling, Nottingham, England. At the young age of 10 he started writing stories. Peel moved to New York in 1981 to marry his pen-pal, Nan Taylor. His career seems to work typically backwards: he has just finished his 97th novel, but "Revenge Is a Dish..." was his first short story sale. Peel has written under various pen names including Nicholas Adams, John Vincent, Rick North and J.P. Trent.
