O dragão verde
Agir, 1989 - Children's stories, Portuguese - 67 pages
O dragão verde (The Green Dragon) reminds us of the story of the boy David against the giant Goliath. In Maria Clara Machado's book, David is the gardener Pedrinho in love with the princess Filosel Aurora. And Goliath is a monstrous green Dragon, enemy of the city that Pedrinho must defeat in order to gain the girl's hand in marriage. Like in the biblical histroy, Pedrinho defeats the monster with a stone in the middle of the forehead. So, the simple gardener wins and earns the hand of his beloved princess Filosel Aurora and becomes the king of Verdes Campos (Green Fields). -- Publisher.
