Ferno the Fire Dragon
Strange things are happening in Tom's village. First, the horses were attacked. Then, the river dried up. Now, the last of the crops has mysteriously burnt to the ground. Everyone is terrified. But Tom isn't afraid. He's always dreamed of a quest-a real quest!-and vows to go to the king and bring help for them all. But Tom soon learns that his village is not the only one in trouble. Beast quest is the 2nd best story in my life.It has many interesting facts.I think that the writer has to put a bit more pictures and more interesting facts in the books.

This series isn't high literature, but it's entertaining enough that my 8 year old reluctant reader wants to keep going. They're formulaic like the Magic Tree House, but the reading level seems to be a tad higher.
