A JOURNEY OF THE HEART AND SOUL - Poetry to Inspire and Sustain is the story of one woman's journey through life as told through her poetry and songs. Intensely personal, her work captures her love of family and God, and reflects her aspirations for truth and beauty, as represented by the eternal values of faith and love. It is also the story of personal growth and perseverance, and lays bare the wellspring of an intensely personal vision that flows from the deepest reaches of her heart and soul.

About the author (2010)

S. E. Blackstock was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Even after her relocation to the west coast, her strict Bostonian upbringing continued. She started writing poems and songs in her late teens ‚beginning with her very first heartbreak‚. Her writing then extended to an exploration of God‚s wonders, and she has been writing for 40 plus years now.Her poetry reveals a fascination for time and space and the wonders of the human soul. Her love of music is reflected in her poetry as many of the poems included here actually began as lyrics to songs. She credits her many roles in life and her faith in God as sources of inspiration for her poetry, noting ‚I write from the perspective of a teenager, a woman, a lady, a mother, a lover, a friend, and a spirit-filled believer in Jesus Christ.‚
