Living in Joe's World
In the Real World, MTV Throws Together a Group of twentysomething strangers and documents their time together. As they interact, fight, pursue their dreams, and generally cope with the trials of living in the real world, they are filmed by a camera crew and then their lives are broadcast to a fascinated audience. It's a real-life soap opera pieced together with creative editing, and has become one of MTV's most successful programs.
Livin' in the Real World is a behind-the-scenes view of the show, which fills in the gaps left by the television series. Written by Joe Patane, a favorite who appeared on the show's Miami locale (the fifth season), the book finally satisfies the avid fan's curiosity about what the camera might have missed and what has since happened in his life. Joe discusses his relationships with the people close to him, including his fellow castmembers and crew. He even talks openly about what came after his marriage proposal and answers the questions he is often asked, like "How did you put up with having the camera around 24-7?" and "What ever happened with the business?"
