Typographical Error - "Survey of instruments and measurements" by Stephen A. Dyer, Page 427, ISBN: 0-471-39484-X. Recently, I purchased a microwave Rotary (Vane) Attenuator.
On the equipment tally
plate is engraved: ELLIOTT. SERIAL No. 755. PAT. No. 691939 OTHERS PENDING. ROTARY ATTENUATOR TYPE B 533. ELLIOTT BROS(LONDON) Ltd., CENTURY WORKS, LONDON SE13 . ENGLAND.
There is very little information on the Internet about this (partly?) British Invention; and as history remembers only what is written, I thought it necessary to include the corrections of the typographical error found in this very informative book,

The name should be Whitehead, and the company should be ELLIOTT.
I enclose British Patent (as an attachment) and information (below) to verify my statement.
