This is a one-of-a-kind reference work to the history of vaudeville, performance art, burlesque, revue, and comic opera. Most of these artists are not profiled in other reference books and the author has done deep research, including archival work and personal interviews, to uncover the rich history of this American artform. This will be a must-have for students of theater history and performance art, but it is also essential for anyone insterested in the cultural history of America.

Re: Three X Sisters
Nice work by Frank Cullen on the book. I talked with Mr. Cullen about Pearl B. Santos, my grandmother, and I'm glad that someone finally took an interest in early radio singing
trio's.
Although the Three X Sisters were on the radio from 1933-37, as well as, other spots in '38, and the 40's. They started as the Hamilton Sisters & Fordyce, and as a singing trio they were together for over 20 years (1923-1943) singing coast to coast, on the BBC radio in England, as the Hamilton Sisters & Fordyce in 1927, and CBS radio. Pearl was very much the music enthusiast. She was my first music teacher. Pearl also was the music arranger for the Cooks Revue Jazz Band in 1926, which was an idea by my grandfather Ed Santos (a trumpeter previously with Raymond Fagan's Dance Orchestra). There are more stories, and another small book is in the works. Enjoy the memories!
Sincerely,
Glenn A. Santos
