About the author (1998)

Leonard Mogel is the founding publisher of "Signature, Weight Watchers Magazine," and "National Lampoon" magazines. He was adjunct professor at New York University and originated the school's summer magazine program. Mogel is the executive producer of "Heavy Metal," the animated movie. He is the author of "The Magazine: Everything You Need to Know to Make It in the Magazine Business," now in its fourth edition and in publication for 20 years. Mogel also wrote "Making It in the Media Professions, Making It in Advertising, Making It in Public Relations, Making It in Broadcasting," and "Making It in Book Publishing." He lives in Westlake Village, California.
