About the author (1964)

Frank O'Rourke (October 16, 1916) was an American writer known for western and mystery novels and sports fiction. O'Rourke ultimately wrote more than 60 novels and numerous magazine articles. He was born in Denver, Colorado, and he attended Kemper Military School. His first novel was E Company (1945), based in part on his wartime experiences in WWII. O'Rourke sometimes wrote under the pen name of Frank O'Malley. In 1989 he committed suicide on April 27.
