But when it comes to asserting yourself in tricky situations, you feel like hiding under your desk. Stand up and be heard! -Idiot-proof steps to stop you from saying yes when you mean no.

-Expert advice on knowing when it's worth it to assert, and when you should just let things ride.

-Easy-to-follow guidelines for asserting yourself with your boss.

-Tips, definitions and warnings to help you along the way.

When I heard an Assertiveness Trainer recommended Toastmasters, I wasn't surprised. Since 1993 meek people have joined the clubs that I have been in and slowly and inevitably they have learned how to communicate to be heard. The leadership training that comes from practicing at a Toastmasters club is the true companion in the field for Jeffrey Davidson's book on Assertiveness. Every suggestion in the book is the starting point for increasing a person's presence and amplifying the personna which others will recognize as assertiveness. Looking people in the eyes when speaking, standing straight, speaking clearly: these are all in the book and when practiced at a great club like Bagel Talk in Clearwater, Florida until perfected will absolutely dispel the meek and replace with a confident, assertive leader.
