"Against the harsh background of the Nevada desert and the life of the casino the drama of these two women's lives moves to the inevitable climax. The scandal spreads, the divorce which had seemed a routine matter, becomes suddenly in jeopardy. For Anne there is no question of choice. But for Evelyn? In this unusual first novel, Miss Rule does not shirk an issue which a few years ago would have scarcely even seen the light of day."--jacket blurb.
