About the author (2002)

Brosnan was born in Cincinnati and grew up there. After graduating high school he was signed to a minor league contract by the Chicago Cubs, and later played major league baseball for the Cubs, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Chicago White Sox. In eight and a half major league seasons as a pitcher, he won 55 games, lost 47.
