Design GraphicsThe principal methods by which thoughts can be conveyed from one person to another are by means of oral or written speech, or by means of drawings or pictures. Drawings supplement speech in describing objects, giving more precise descriptions which permit little variation in interpretation. Graphics is the process of drafting and representation through which designs are developed, explained to others, and translated into information from which finished objects are produced. Drawings are used to develop, present, and explain in detail the designer's creations. Graphical representation is important in architecture, city planning, engineering, commercial designing, interior decorating, and industrial design. This book describes methods of representing objects, in order to assist designers in selecting the best type of drawing, shading, and rendering to make designs the client can understand, criticize, and approve. |
