I'm a history major at BYU, and have looked at some of the sources he uses. He falsely claims that these are eyewitness accounts, but many of them are not. For proof, check out the cited Journal of Oliver B. Huntington.

Review: Joseph Smith's Kirtland: Eyewitness Accounts

User Review  - Jenna - Goodreads

I was able to visit Kirtland in October and got this book there. Having visited the sights the book references I thoroughly loved the stories recorded here. I feel I got a true sense of life here during the early years of LDS church history (1831-1838). Read full review
