A primitive rite and its bearings on scripture. A collection of three lectures given by the author at the Episcopal Divinity School in Philadelphia from June 16 through 18, 1885. The original lectures have not been altered from their original state, however the author has added additions to the text by way of illustrative facts discovered since he delivered the lectures, and other similar material is found within the Appendix. Lectures included are entitled: The Primitive Rite Itself; Suggestions and Perversion of the Rite; Indications of the Rite in the Bible; Appendix.
