About the author (2008)

Carol Gelles is the author of 1,000 Vegetarian Recipes, which won the Julia Child Cookbook Award and the James Beard Foundation Award for Excellence. She holds a master's degree in food and nutrition and has contributed articles and recipes to magazines such as Weight Watchers, Parents, Women's World, and Mademoiselle. Her other books include The Complete Whole Grain Cookbook, Whole-some Harvest, and 101 Ways to Juice It!
