I loved this book. There was not a thing about it that I didn't love. I could picture it all in my head as I read. It was full of history but it had a beautiful story and I can truthfully say that I enjoyed every page. I did not get bored with any of it. I have had the book for some time but just put it aside and never read it but I finally set down one day and started it and hated to put it down. Thank you for a wonderful read.

I was hooked by this book early on in the reading and it influenced my own emotions at having courage, being strong and persistent, but also I felt heavy with exhaustion, devastation, and insignificance. I'm glad I was born in the time of life that I was. Read full review

Difficult, lengthy, but a most amazing story when considering that it's based on a true story of a woman captured by Indians when pregnant and found her way back along the rugged territory along the Cheat River. Read full review
