LibraryThing Review

User Review  - Rosenstern - LibraryThing

Anne is a girl who speaks in Elizabethan English, has red hair and gets into all sorts of situations. I enjoyed reading these books when I was a kid and I still do now. It's a heart warming book with characters that you can't forget. Read full review

About the author (2008)

L. M. Montgomery (1874-1942) was born on Prince Edward Island, off the east coast of Canada. She spent her childhood there, living with her grandparents after the death of her mother. Many scenes in Anne of Green Gables are drawn from her happy memories of the island and the farmhouse where she was brought up. The Anne of Green Gables series eventually grew to eight books-all of which are still in print throughout the world.
