1 Review
The Museum of Modern Art, 2005 - Architecture - 280 pages
This publication and the exhibition it accompanies feature 36 important architectural projects throughout Spain, a country that in recent years has become known as an international center for design innovation and excellence. The projects, all of which will be in construction in 2006, are seen in relation to 14 other major architectural accomplishments that have been completed in Spain within the last five years. The projects reflect diversity both in geography and in the architects who conceive them--"from relative newcomers to established practitioners--"and also represent a wide range of scales, including a private house and a new international airport. In addition to presenting the accomplishments of Spanish architects, approximately a third of the projects included have been authored by architects from other countries in Europe, Asia, and the United States. The publication includes an introductory essay by Terence Riley, The Phillip Johnson Chief Curator of the Department of Architecture and Design at The Museum of Modern Art.
