The fifth discipline is a very interesting book. It shows how people is interdependent in a system and how every action has consequences in more than one direction. This book does not show any numerical formula about how to solve system problems but provides several example to understand its concepts. On every example, Peter Senge explains deeply how the factors of our environment influence people and how they behave over the time. Efficient communication is one of the most important ideas in this book. Peter senge mentions in his book that feedback between elements of a system is essential to work as a strong system where a vision is define and everybody is inform about the changes happening. This book also define the 7 learning disabilities that are pretty common in people which I like to define them as the excuses that do not let us learn. Also, this book invites and transmits messages and information of how to change our way of thinking and the view of the world as an interdependent system. I will recommend this book to that people that would like to understand why is very important to have a vision and be committed to a goal. This book can help people to realize that there is a way to achieve any vision no matter how difficult looks at the beginning with the right system thinking will be possible. The key Peter Senge gives to success on a goal is that we have to design a strong structure or base and define and imagine the effects that our vision can cause in different ways. Most probable, to have a strong structure will take a lot of time but will be the best way to do it. I really recommend this book to everybody buy specially for people related to management.

The Fifth Discipline encompasses different disciples that would help organizations build better teams. The book itself helps to build your self as a better person but also as a team member. Often times in the job industry you are face in working with a team. You are assigned projects but you don't all have the same idea or vision of what you and your team are to create. The book offers insights in what to think and how to go about the situation. Besides working in teams, the book also offers ways in which you can build as a person. This idea is called personal mastery. This is the disciple of personal growth and learning. It basically the idea of setting a personal vision of yourself sometime in the future and before this vision come, you work for it. You are ok with working hard to get to this vision because that is what you want to do.
I would recommend this book because it helps you learn as a person and as one that will help you work in the industry. Rating this book as a 5 would be to far because it ask more questions than it asks. Sometimes you are left with a question that is not answered in one section but throughout different sections

There are a handful of books that have inspired me to latch onto it and try to drain every bit of goodness out of it. This was one of them. Although my version was the 1990 original rather than the 2006 update, I still found it to be fresh and relevant.
The five disciplines (systems thinking, sharing visions, personal mastery, mental models, and team learning) are introduced well. Senge makes the synergies between them clear and compelling. I found myself making notes about nearly every page and there were a ton of great quotes.
If you are involved in organizational change efforts and have not read this book, you're limiting your toolset. Beg, borrow or steal a copy and do yourself a favor!

I read the book for about 3 years.everytime, it speaks different things but all relevant to the organization which I have been for almost 10 years. The book organizations is very artistic and had been useful in conceptualizing systems thinking.Highly recommended!

Part of the Industrial Revolution
very important to grasp the assumptions underwritten the book, especially about such a influential book. It is not voluntary for your organization to apply five
disciplines mentioned in this book(and maybe more disciplines that are not mentioned) and become a 'learning organization', it is crucial. As Peter Senge mentions it will become the new language.
If our society doesn't have learning organizations, it is one step behind the industrial revolution.
