About the author (2006)

Lucy Staples is a talented Illustrator/author who began painting, drawing and creating ceramics at a young age. Lucy graduated with a Bachelor of  Fine Arts, from the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford, CT.  She was the creator of ChocolArts.com, featuring her handmade truffles. Lucy was the owner of Gazebo Arts, Fine Art & Craft supplies with Paint your own Pottery, in Monson, Massachusetts.

 

Born in England, and moving to New Jersey when she was five, she has always been involved in the art world. Lucy inherits her artistic talents from her great grandmother, who was a contemporary and friend of  Singer Sargent. She is one of many artists in her family, including her grandmother, Judith DaFano, a Royal Academy Paris Salon Gold Medalist. DaFano was a landscape painter in the English Lake District, who once enjoyed tea with Princess Diana.

 

Lucy is the creator of Art For Kidz, a website with reproducible children’s coloring and activity pages. The www.artforkidz.com site also showcases original art & note cards for purchase. Lucy resides in picturesque Helena, Montana with her husband, Brian, and her children, future artists, Devon and Kendal.
