Do yourself a huge favor and read the James E.Falen version of this story. I had this beloved writer's works read to me as a student in St. Petersburg. Back in America, I can tell you that nothing reads Pushkin as faithfully and as enjoyably as I felt it in Russia as Falen. Read full review
