As elementary school teachers, you will be entrusted by parents with the responsibility of developing the most important organ in the individual, the brain. This book aptly suggests the magnitude of the teaching career. As a teacher, you will be responsible for shaping thousands of young brains. You will actually influence the creation of synapses and neural networks associated with thinking and reasoning. As the gatekeepers of learning, you can start children on the path to a lifetime of discovery by teaching them the thinking skills they need to explore the unknown.

Full of useful information. Some may find the science too thick, but the writing tries to keep it light and anecdotes illustrate each point. Ideas discussed give practical insight into teaching and learning process. This book is good not only for educators, but for anyone interested in how the brain assimilates (or doesn't) information.
