Cissie, a nine-year-old orphan who has lived with each of her three aunts in turn, goes to live with her de-lightful and surprising uncle. Uncle Eben has a peach orchard and a motherly housekeeper, and the whole winter is packed with good times, adventures and work. When her uncle tells her that she is going to stay with him for always, Cissie is a happy little girl.
