About the author (1994)

Delbeek possesses an Honours Specialist degree in Biology, a Master of Science degree in Zoology, and a Bachelor's degree in Education, all from the University of Toronto.

Sprung was born in Miami Beach, Florida. He is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology, and is a consultant, and frequent lecturer on marine aquarium keeping.
