It is rightly said that,'' you cannot change your future but you can change your habits and definitely your habits will change your future". So BHAGAVAD-GITA will definitely help all of us to change our habits and hence to make our future brightest. The only word for the book is 'THE MAGIC BOOK'. Jai Shri Krishna.

The talks of Bhagavad-gītā are not for any particular person, society, or community, but they are for all, and friends or enemies are equally entitled to hear them. They are a great source of inspiration for many. Henry David Thoreau said: "In the morning I bathe my intellect in the stupendous and cosmogonal philosophy of the Bhagavad-Gita, in comparison with which our modern world and its literature seem puny and trivial." Martin Luther King read the Gita and Mahatma Gandhi said: "When doubts haunt me, when disappointments stare me in the face, and I see not one ray of hope on the horizon, I turn to Bhagavad-Gita and find a verse to comfort me; and I immediately begin to smile in the midst of overwhelming sorrow. Those who meditate on the Gita will derive fresh joy and new meanings from it every day."

The best of the best translation I have read
This Bhavad Gita As it Is is written with the perspective of current age in mind and suggest ways to follow it practically than just talking philosophy
. This translation is a treasure. Other translation are philosophical but I found this author lived by the preachings of Bhagavad Gita and successfully demonstrated the practicality of his own translations. Better gift to this generation.

This is a most authentic translation. One that works towards the broader tradition of the Srimad Bhagavatam, and is ultimately harmonious with the Ancient Bhakti tradition.
The commentator explains
his standpoint clearly, that he wishes to expand on the words of Krishna authoritatively. The commentary appears to be free of self-serving or otherwise misleading aggrandizements and embellishments, and maintains the integrity of the tradition as a whole.
I read this book several times before it all fell into place properly. The depth of the traditional text and the insight of the commentary make for longevity, every time I pick it up I learn something new.
For people coming from a Shankarite standpoint, ie. everything is one and god is formless, this book is refreshing because it harmonises God's form (Krishna/Christ/Allah/etc) with His formless representation of brahman. The staunch Advaitin's will find this challenging, but as it offers a more balanced perspective of the Veda's as a whole it is ultimately more fulfilling and compelling as a philosophical system.
An excellent translation & commentary for anyone interesting in Indian Philosophy, Ancient Indian History or just the average soul searcher! Manna for the Mind & Soul!
